A row of brick and siding houses on a suburban street

What we do, and what it costs

Prices are published because the alternative is a number invented in your driveway. If what you need isn't listed, call and ask.

Services

  1. A technician testing an outdoor condensing unit with a meter

    AC repair

Capacitors, contactors, blower and condenser motors, control boards, refrigerant leaks and drain problems. Six stocked trucks, so most repairs finish on the first visit.

  2. Gloved hands fitting pipe on a heating system

    Heating repair

Gas furnaces, heat pumps and the emergency-heat strips that half of Frisco relies on for four days a year. Every furnace call includes a heat-exchanger inspection.

  3. A newly installed outdoor unit on a pad beside a house

    System replacement

Manual J load calculation, static pressure measurement, then a recommendation. We quote two or three options at different price points and explain what the extra money actually buys.

  4. A technician checking system pressures during a maintenance visit

    Maintenance plans

Two visits a year, priority scheduling in July, and no diagnostic fee. Mostly it means the capacitor gets replaced in April instead of failing at 3pm in August.

  5. A round ceiling diffuser seen from directly below

    Ductwork and airflow

The most common reason one room never cools. We measure static pressure and airflow, seal what's leaking, and resize returns that were undersized from the day the house was built.

  6. Lifting the filter out of a whole-home air cleaner

    Indoor air quality

Media filtration, UV, and whole-home dehumidification for the shoulder seasons when it is 74 degrees and 70% humidity and the AC barely runs.

Comparing your options

When a system is genuinely at the end, these are the three ways to replace it. The honest answer for most Frisco houses is the middle column.

Four of our six technicians have the middle column at home. Variable-speed is a wonderful system and a poor investment unless you're staying fifteen years.

What things cost

Flat-rate, published, and approved by you before anything is opened up. A replacement gets a load calculation first, so that one is quoted rather than listed.

Questions we get before booking

Do you charge for a diagnostic?

$89, and it is waived completely if you have us do the repair. We charge it because a real diagnosis takes forty minutes, and a company that does it free is recovering the cost somewhere you can't see.

Are you licensed and insured?

TACLB #71204C, with full liability and workers' compensation. Ask and we'll send the certificate before we come out — you should be asking every contractor who bids.

Will someone try to sell me a new system?

No technician here earns a commission, so nobody has a reason to. We repair equipment other companies condemn, and when a system genuinely is finished we'll show you why.

How do I know the system you quote is the right size?

Because we run a Manual J load calculation and measure static pressure first. A great many systems in Frisco are a full ton oversized, which is exactly why they short-cycle and leave the house clammy.

What happens if you find something unexpected?

We stop and call you with a photo and a price before doing anything that wasn't on the approved repair.

How long is the work guaranteed?

One year on parts and labor for a repair. Ten years on parts and labor for a system we installed, with the manufacturer registration filed by us so you don't lose it on a technicality.

Not sure which one you need?

That's what the free visit is for.
